"Living Objects" a new collection & campaign by Belgian collective Vormen

With the photographic campaign and collection “Living Objects”, Belgian design collective Vormen steers away from the conventional and idealised depiction of furniture often found in magazines and on mood boards. Instead, they embrace the very essence of their practice — creating open-ended forms with a commitment to supporting daily rituals and use. Their  aim is to disrupt the norm by celebrating and magnifying moments where objects are poetically woven into the fabric of daily life. Going against the grain, this visual narrative captures attention and leaves a lasting impact on viewers thanks to an affirmed element of surprise. “Living Objects” is a memorable and thought-provoking series of images that showcases both Vormen’s productions and their philosophy, resonating with our everyday lives. For “Living Objects”, Vormen have produced a new color range for their iconic Stool, as well as two new pieces, The Bench, and Drape.

Vormen’s iconic stool in a fresh color palette

Fashioned from a pressed metal sheet, and welded to sleek legs, the Vormen stool is crafted to seamlessly blend elegance and functionality for everyday use. The subtle curvature of the seat plate evokes a sense of poetic allure, hinting at the presence of the seated individual while ensuring optimal ergonomic support for extended comfort. Initially conceived in galvanized steel, the stackable stool is now available in a selection of colors – Ivory, Pure White, Galvanized, and Wine Red.

Extending the Vormen principle into a new form

The Bench embodies the same design principles as Vormen’s Stool, extending its concept into a larger seating surface, without compromising elegance or functionality. Like The Stool, here the  subtle curvature of the seat plate evokes a sense of poetic allure, hinting at the presence of the seated individual while ensuring optimal ergonomic support for extended comfort. The Bench is available in a selection of colors – Ivory, Pure White, Galvanized, and Wine Red.

Drape, a poetic illusion of space

Drape is a precision-cut, polished inox plate. Aptly named, it evokes the image of a cascading curtain, creating the illusion of a see-through wall. Drape strikes a delicate balance between functionality and décor, serving as a distinctive accent piece and a mirror, expanding a room’s spatiality. Drape comes with a wall mount for easy installation.
